Daisy Buchanan is not innocent as she may look. She is a seductress and this is ironic because of her name "Daisy" which represents purity. All men want her, making her a trophy wife.

·      Even though Daisy was married to Tom Buchanan, she still kept having affair with Gatsby and still tried to engage romance. She did nothing but lead him on. In the end, she still admits that she loves Tom, which made Gatsby feel that he had no hope.

·      She allowed Gatsby to take the blame on Myrtle’s death even though in reality, she was the one driving the car. This is another big factor of corruption in herself.

·      "Her voice is full of money... That was it. I'd never understood before. It was full of money - that was the inexhaustible charm that rose and fell in it, the jingle of it, the cymbal's song of it..." (Fitzgerald, 120). This quote shows more details about Daisy Buchanan’s character that she is obsessed with material wealth. This is a reason why Gatsby is very crazy about her.

·      This quote also shows that Daisy is the perfect representation of the American Dream.

·      “She only married you because I was poor and she was tired of waiting for me. It was a terrible mistake, but in her heart she never loved anyone except for me.” (130). This quote shows us that she is very money-dependent and only goes for men who are wealthy. In the end, she falls in love with Gatsby because she saw that he was wealthy and is capable of obtaining anything she wanted.
